TOP Safety™ is a team of safety experts with decades of Law Enforcement and legal compliance experience. We’ve developed everything from Workplace Violence Prevention Plans, to various compliance and life-saving training courses and a patented bleeding control kit, the TOPKit™.

Meet Our Team

Created by Law Enforcement and legal compliance professionals

TOP Safety was born out of a passion for helping people in our communities and saving lives.

The TOP Safety Founders have been fortunate enough to serve our communities with many years of experience in Law Enforcement, which includes leading tactical and investigative teams and providing various types of training to thousands of Law Enforcement personnel and civilians alike.

Take your life into your own hands

We created TOP Safety after recognizing from our experience that First Responders can’t be everywhere, all the time.

Due to the unique circumstances of active threat events, people whether injured or not are often left alone for a long period of time before First Responders can help them. With our trauma medical care training and experience we realized the importance of empowering people with the skills and mindset to save their own lives in a traumatic event.

This culminated in the creation of the TOP Kit, our patented bleeding control kit that allows everyday people the chance to save their own lives and the lives of others in a traumatic event. We created the TOP Kit for our families and we all carry TOP Kits with us everywhere we go. We think we can make an impact in your families lives as well. We truly believe that with the right tools, the right mindset and some basic training, you and your family can be empowered to face traumatic situations.

Dave Thompson

Dave Thompson is an entrepreneur and Co-Founder of TOP Safety LLC. Dave retired from a twenty year career in Law Enforcement in which he served his community with the highest level of professionalism with a focus in tactics, training and leadership. Dave is a problem solver, an innovator and has a passion for adventure.

Josh Clayton

Joshua Clayton is currently in law enforcement and has served in many capacities in that role. He has spent over 10 years teaching active threat tactics to first responders and everyday citizens. In addition to being an active law enforcement member he is also an attorney. If one of the founding members of TOP Safety is on a skateboard, it is likely him.

Phil Harris

Prior to serving his community as a law enforcement officer for over a decade, Phil Harris served his nation in The United States Marine Corps. Phil has a passion for teaching; he has given instruction on a myriad of topics in both the government and private sectors. Raising his family, making people laugh, and empowering others are what’s most important to him.
